Songwriting Contest

Submission of your information here indicates that you have read, understood and will abide by the Terms and Conditions set out below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1. The Singer/Songwriter or Songwriters (if more than one) will be referred throughout as “the Songwriter”.

2. Bob Donaldson Radio Network will be referred throughout as “BDRN”.

3. Two Bodies of Water Productions is referred throughout as “TBoW”. 

4. The prize ("the prize”) will be the songwriter’s song recorded, mixed, and mastered at TBoW, and produced by Bob Donaldson.  The production of the song will include all the musical resources readily available to TBoW and BDRN. Additional resources, including but not limited to hired musicians and/or equipment rentals, may be at the sole expense of the songwriter.  TBoW and BDRN make no guarantee as to the availability of resources but will endeavour to work in good faith towards the best possible production of the song within the bounds of the available resources.

5. There is no purchase necessary to enter this contest. 

6. The Songwriter is over 18 or has expressed permission of their guardian. 

7. The Songwriter may submit one (1) musical piece (“song”). In the event that more than one song is submitted, the first submission will be recognized, and any others will be disqualified. 

8. If the Songwriter is part of another submission with different songwriters, they are permitted to submit providing the singer for the song is different than the other submission. 

9. The Songwriter grants BDRN use to the song submitted for broadcast and promotion of both the submission as well as, if they win, the final project. 

10. The Songwriter acknowledges that they do not have a publisher for this works and have 100% of the rights. 

11. The Songwriter retains all rights to the song. 

12. It is the Songwriter’s responsibility to ensure they are registered with their respective Performance Rights Organization (“PRO”). This will ensure that the Songwriter receives any royalties (if applicable).

13. The Songwriter is responsible for all travel, meal, specialty instruments, and incidental expenses to attend TBoW in Edmonton, Alberta for the recording. 

14. The winning Songwriter has six (6) months from the close of the contest to complete the recording. 

15. In the event that the Songwriter is unable to complete the recording, there will be no alternate compensation or cash equivalent provided. 

16. The prize is non-transferable. 

17. BDRN and TBoW reserve the right to award more than one prize. 

18. Submission is open from 12:01am (MST) April 1, 2025 and closes 11:59 pm (MST) on June 30, 2025

19. Winner(s) will be announced by July 15, 2025

20. Value of prize package is over $2,000.00.

22. Meta Data Tag your MP3 with your name and song name - Failure to complete the submission form properly and/or Meta Data Tag your MP3 properly may result in disqualification of submission.
